Create a title sequence in After Effects lasting around 1 minute. Must use both audio and visuals to establish an identity.

Genre picked: Science Fiction
Fictional story summary: Millions of years in the future Dr. Jaxin Jones, esteemed transformative energetics scientist, is fired from her job. Mrs. Gardner offers/ coerces her into a new job for mad Dr. Gardner. They need her to make a battery for their nearly-finished spaceship before the sun explodes into a black hole consuming the Earth. She doesn’t believe them but takes the job for the money.
Research: Saul Bass, science fiction book covers, Pixar’s Incredibles’ credits.
the challenge
Choosing a font and color scheme that is diverse, conveys the genre, and sets the tone of the movie was the biggest challenge. Several fonts were played with before picking Agency FB to build the hierarchy in the title. The color scheme is made of mostly oranges and yellows connecting to the dryness of the characters’ world, but there is a little
blue to reflect the end destination: space. Since the color palette was limited, I ended up making several colored versions of the illustrated pieces in Illustrator and placed them on the scene’s background color. This allowed me to pick an illustration that had high contrast and conveyed the tone.
