Tell a story in five panels using design elements and principles.
the process
Thinking of this like it was a storyboard helped me understand what to show in this story of a little girl getting a lollipop. Each decision of what to show and what information could be cut became critical. The solution divides the panels into inciting incident, obstacle one, obstacle two, climax, and resolution.
the challenge
The challenge was to keep remembering the design principles and elements and continuously incorporate them in the panels. Line, shape, space, color, contrast, emphasis, and balance became the leading forces behind composition decisions.
